Return to the exciting world of QUAKE with Activision’s QUAKE 4 for the Xbox 360. Called upon to defend earth from an alien invasion, gamers will
find the fourth installment of QUAKE brings all the non-stop action and exciting gaming the previous entries in the series became known for.
Picking up where the QUAKE II storyline left off, QUAKE 4 returns gamers to the battle against the alien Stroggos. Using their advanced alien science, the Stroggos have melded captured humans with machines, creating mindless drones who blindly obey their masters. As Matthew Kane, a member of Rhino Squad, gamers join their marine comrades on a key strike deep in the heart of Stroggos space. The desperate attack must succeed or earth will be doomed. As gamers battle their way through the alien fortress, they will find many of the weapons they’ve come to know and depend on plus some new ones. Two vehicles are also available: a hovertank and a robotic walker, both of which have weapons and regenerative shields. Another new addition is the appearance of Kane’s squad members. During some levels, players will have another squad member or two following them. While players can’t control these members, they will find the cover fire the marines provide very helpful. Of course, no QUAKE game would be complete without multiplayer levels, and QUAKE 4 has many, including remakes of classic QUAKE multiplayer maps.
FPS gamers know what to expect with a QUAKE game, and QUAKE 4 won’t disappoint them.
