The sixth installment of Namco’s RIDGE RACER series comes to the Xbox 360. As always, the game features all of the drifting, loss-of-traction action that players have come to know and love, plus a wide variety of tracks and cars. RIDGE RACER 6, like all RIDGE RACER games,
focuses on drifting and sliding around corners without using the brakes.
The physics may not be quite right, but the resulting high-speed turns make for an incredibly exciting racing game. The faster and more
dangerous the curve, the more the nitro meter fills up.
Once the meter is filled, players can fire off a turbo boost that will make those high-speed curves seem even more incredible. While a lot of the maps from previous games make an appearance in RIDGE RACER 6, there are also a large number of new courses for players to learn. The career mode, called world explorer, challenges players to complete 111 races to earn the title of world champion. These courses take players around the world while challenging them with special rules, different cars, and other conditions. In addition to the career mode, the game also features single races, time trial races, two-player racing, and Xbox Live racing for up to 14 players. Online scoreboards and statistics are also available. RIDGE RACER 6 continues the high-speed action the RIDGE RACER series has been known for, and Xbox gamers who haven’t had a chance to play the series won’t want to miss this Xbox 360 launch title
